I have no doubt as to your personal professional standards, nor that things might have improved at YO! Sushi since our terrible experience in 2008. It was bad enough to ensure that we haven’t returned though. What we saw with our own eyes was disgusting compared to the Moshi Moshi experience. And Moshi hasn’t disappointed us since. The awful YO! Sushi manager didn’t help either. But perhaps it’s time for a return visit. Watch out for me.

I must say we always use fresh food, prepare sushi with care and try to satisfy our customers. We use gloves for anything we do, wash hands every twenty minutes and put on new gloves. Our boards can get a bit messy sometimes, but only in very busy hours. It’s easy for people to critizes but chefs are not gods and we try the best we can.

I see your point, and I do commend their cleanliness and their manner of preparing food in front of you. I haven’t eaten at Yo sushi to notice the drastic differences in sushi bars, since I’m not that much of a fan though, maybe I should try it out, seems the rest of London has!

I’m not sure which is worse… Moshi is always always always a winner! Even though they stopped doing their free birthday meals, which is a shame. Now I have to pay full price every time 🙂

Sushi last night. Both my husband and I have had the most terrible “dire rear” all day, and it can really only be yesterdays sushi to blame. Admittedly it was a Sunday evening, but there is no excuse for serving sub-standard food that makes people ill. We go regularly to Moshi Moshi and Oki Nami which are both excellent, friendly and I think better value, so would say if you are in Brighton – do your stomach a favour and give Yo! sushi a miss, try one of these superior establishments a go instead.

I’ve gone to Yo! on occasion and it has never been a perfect visit. I love that you can get unlimited miso soup refills, but usually the miso soup is luke warm when it arrives. Also I’ve noticed that when they do refills of soup, they take away all the identical empty bowls and bring them back refilled and hand them out again… there is no way, surely, that they can know they’re handing out the correct bowls back to people???

The fish isn’t as fresh as Moshi’s, and they put salad cream on everything… what the heck? Sometimes dishes will come around with dried out, horrid-looking salad cream on them, they’ve clearly been there for ages… gross.

But sometimes it can be a fairly pleasant alternative to Moshi as, if you eat wisely it can work out much cheaper and it’s open on Monday’s… which Moshi is not (and I always crave Sushi on a monday).

Moshi wins though 🙂
